Bo Long
A mother of two, she has lived in South Surrey for 16 years. Just two weeks after arriving, she found support at Alex House, which inspired her path in community service.
After her children entered university, she stepped forward to give back, becoming a role model for Chinese mothers—showing that language is not the biggest barrier; courage and a willingness to step out of one’s comfort zone matter most, along with the belief that everyone deserves equal respect in the community.
She is currently the volunteer lead of the Tea and Chat Group at Alex House, a board member of the Rotary Club of White Rock, and a board member of the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary. She also founded the Auxiliary’s first Chinese and youth groups, contributing to a more inclusive community.
