Y-Mind Teen - Learn to Cope With Stress

Learn to Cope with Stress & Anxiety - Y-Mind for Youth happening this summer!

Free for Youth ages 13 to 18 who are experiencing mild-to-moderate anxiety or stress, the YMCA's Y Mind Teen program can help. Lunch will be provided at each session.

Program runs July 8 - August 19 from 1:00-2:30pm and will take place at the Youth Space in Bakerview Park.

This free seven-week mental wellness program is delivered across Canada and Alex House Youth Workers are excited to offer this program in South Surrey/White Rock this summer.

Program Details:

  • Free, seven-week program for youth experiencing mild-to-moderate anxiety or stress.

  • Learn proven coping skills and meet peers who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings.

  • Each session is 1.5 hours long and is offered one evening a week, for seven weeks.

NSG Project Info Session

Put your ideas into action with NSG!

Learn about the grassroots principles that drive the Neighbourhood Small Grants program!

This info session will start with a short presentation that outlines key NSG project guidelines and tips for writing a successful NSG application.

Following the presentation, NSG Coordinators and members of the Neighbourhood Grants Committee will be available to chat with you about your project ideas. This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions and gain insights about your application through the lens of the NSG program. We recommend that you bring a copy of your existing application with you to the info session to receive personalized feedback and recommendations. There will also be opportunities to learn how to submit an application for any first-time project leaders.

FOUNDRY is coming to South Surrey/White Rock! This is an opportunity for youth ages 12-24 to your voice and be a part of shaping the FOUNDRY that will be coming to our community! We will be holding two groups this summer to hear your thoughts and opinions on some important decisions and to share with you some upcoming, exciting opportunities. Food will be provided.

Youth Unfiltered Dialogue Event

Join us for the Unfiltered Youth Dialogue on April 15!

You’re invited to the Unfiltered Youth Dialogue, an in-person event designed by youth, for youth to talk about what matters most to you: mental wellness, relationships, boundaries, self-care, substances, identity, social media, and more! 

📅 Date: April 15th (Tuesday)

📍 Location:
White Rock Community Centre

🍕 Food: FREE pizza & drinks @ 4:00 PM

🎤 Speakers & small-group conversations: 4:30–6:30 PM

You’ll get to connect with other youth (ages 13-19), share your thoughts, and see your ideas captured LIVE in a graphic art piece.  🎨
