Kate Hammer (ANHBC Rep)

I'm a failed scientist who got an internship covering crime and breaking news for the metro desk of the New York Times and never looked back. After that, I moved to Toronto to work for the Globe and Mail where my investigative and beat reporting won me a variety of awards.

After covering education for several years, I was recruited to work as a senior policy advisor to the Premier of Ontario. During this time, I found that the best way to get to know your community is to volunteer in various capacities and serve on boards. That's one of the reasons why, when my family moved across the country to White Rock, I was humbled and excited to be invited to join Alex House’s board.
