Through support from a Neighbourhood Small Grant, Paula is offering short free writing workshop for people who have a story to tell. She writes, "We will be looking at the stories, what format they would work best in, how to start writing those stories, we’ll do some writing exercises, and share our progress with the group for feedback. When the workshop is over I will publish the stories in an ebook titled 'Our Community Stories Surrey,' and each participant will get a copy. I’m offering two separate sessions, so each person can register for one by sending me an email."
Program cancelled until further notice due to Covid-19 concerns.
This class is a great way to get your feet moving while working up a sweat and having fun. No stress, no pressure. You are not only going to have fun and get your cardio in but also learn different Basic Steps from four Latin rhythms when we deconstruct a Zumba song and put it all together in the end!
Alex House is honoured to partner with our neighbours in presenting four Repair Cafés through 2020! This is an opportunity for folks to share and learn skills to maintain and repair their tools, toys, appliances, and equipment. In preparation for the first Repair Café of 2020 on January 26, we are recruiting volunteers who have a skill to share, and would be willing to donate time and energy.
