"Sharing our Journeys" returns to the Youth Space in Sunnyside Community Hall at Bakerview Park, 1845 154 St., Surrey on Wednesday February 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. SOJ is an intergenerational potluck and informal discussion circle for LGBT2Q+ older adults (55+) and youth (13-24). Participants covenant together to be respectful and inclusive; and to maintain confidentiality so that we all feel empowered to share openly with one another. This is a terrific opportunity to make new friends, learn from one another, and grow more authentically into our sexual and gender identities.
The Alexandra Festival is our signature community event, attracting nearly 3,000 people to Alex House every year on the last Saturday in May. Enjoy a variety of family activities, browse the artisans and crafters booths and admire (and purchase!) their gifts, treasures and must-have items of every type and description.
Parent Education Workshop Series: Parenting is full of joys and challenges at every age and stage. The Positively Parenting Workshop Series has four interactive workshops designed to empower, connect and support parents of children and youth ages 6-18. Topical information, resources, meaningful activities and role-plays are provided to practice and facilitate discussion. Workshops also give parents the opportunity to connect, share with and support one another.
