Alexandra Children's Centres

What goes around comes around!  Thirty years ago, our Alexandra Daycare was bursting at the seams. By 1996, there were not enough children left to sustain it and the daycare closed. Fifteen years later, we are just one of many communities dealing with a severe lack of childcare spaces for working parents. Alex House recognized and responded to this need in 2011, with the opening of our first Alexandra Children's Centre in Kensington Prairie. In the spring of 2012, we added our Beach House Daycare in Crescent Beach, and in September 2012 we opened our Preschool. Our Reggio Emilia based approach to learning has created happy, vibrant places where child care is just one component of a ‘global’ village that supports children, their families and the community to be happy and healthy in a child focused environment.
