We welcome the return of a weekly walking group to Alexandra Neighbourhood House! Join us Tuesdays at 10am beginning July 23 as Rosalyn Kahl leads walks of 60-90 minutes around the Crescent Beach area. Everyone is welcome! Ros comes to us from New Zealand, where she makes her winter (summer) home; and she will lead the walks through September 24. Right now she is studying up on local places of interest to help augment the walks.

Are you looking for a safe and comfortable space to share your thoughts and feelings about death and dying? Death Café is an occasional gathering exploring the boundary, and what lies beyond, over tea and cake. Regardless of your perspectives, all are welcome to this non-sectarian event hosted by Alex House’s community programmer, Neil Fernyhough, who is also a trained pastoral care provider and former social worker.

Join local musicians July 28, Aug 25, Oct 27 and Dec 29  in the Dining Hall for Acoustic Jam, 6-10pm. Bring your instrument and a snack to share. $2 drop-in. Everyone is welcome and you don't have to play an instrument - you can just come and enjoy the music.

Call Neil at 604-535-0015 ext 236 for more information.

English Corner is on summer break and will resume in September.

Over the years, English Corner has assisted dozens of newcomer Canadians with their conversational skills, while learning about Canadian (and one another's) culture. It has now wound up another successful season with a tea party (photo below), and will resume in September.
