We invite you to join our upcoming Community Conversation "How We Gather: Connecting in a Time of Distancing." We are hoping to hear directly from you and others in our community about how the ongoing pandemic has affected how you gather, make connections, and strive to create a safer and more inclusive community that meets our changing needs. We will be holding conversation #2 over Zoom with a phone-in option.
● Cloverdale and Clayton on December 8th from 6-8 pm
The conversations will be facilitated by Neil Fernyhough, Community Programs Manager at Alexandra Neighbourhood House and will feature presentations from three people who have been actively engaged in gathering community during the pandemic:
- Dawn Morris hosts Alex House’s online English Conversation Circle for newcomer Canadians
- Kiko Kung is the Youth Collective Engagement Worker at the Youth Space, a safe, sober, and inclusive gathering place for youth ages 13 and up
- Vinita Sud is a volunteer leading Rejuvinita Yoga, an activity sponsored by Alex House
Small group discussions will be a core component of the event and an opportunity to share your reflections and ideas on how community gathering and connections have changed, what new community needs need to be addressed and what the future of community gatherings should look like.
