Vine Youth and Family Centre: Located at 15455 Vine Avenue in White Rock, the Youth and Family Centre is home to a variety of programs, services and special events that provide youth with opportunities to develop their strengths, overcome their challenges and connect with their community. Supports, workshops and resources are available for families, parents and caregivers as well. For more information, please contact 604-538-5060 ext 28. 

Reconnect:  Reconnect Youth Program offers one-to-one, outreach and group support to youth ages 13-18. We work with youth to develop their strengths, overcome challenges and connect with community. The program is free, voluntary, and confidential. We also provide one-to-one parent support and education for families and caregivers. For more information or to make a referral, contact 604-538-5060 ext 28. Vine Youth Clinic: Our Youth & Family Centre is also home to the Vine Youth Wellness Drop In for youth ages 12-21. In collaboration with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and Fraser Health, the clinic provides integrated health and wellness services. Youth can meet with a physician around general health issues and/or speak to a youth worker around non-medical issues. Youth obtain screening, treatment and medical counselling in a safe and supportive environment and Youth Workers are available to provide support, information, and referrals. Drop-in hours are 3:30-6:30 pm on Monday (except stat holidays - open Wednesday of that week instead). Call 604-542-3926 for more information. www.vineyouthclinic.com

Parent Education Workshop Series:  Parenting is full of joys and challenges at every age and stage. The Positively Parenting Workshop Series has four interactive workshops designed to empower, connect and support parents of children and youth ages 6-18. Topical information, resources, meaningful activities and role-plays are provided to practice and facilitate discussion. Workshops also give parents the opportunity to connect, share with and support one another. Each workshop can stand-alone, so parents can choose to attend just one workshop or all, depending on needs and interests.

Workshops run Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm at South Surrey Rec Centre and Kensington Priarie, Check this space for fall workshop dates.

Workshop 1: What’s Love Got To Do With It?
Relationship and its connection to parenting.
Workshop 2: Why Are You Acting This Way? 
Taking a look at the meaning of challenging behaviour and our response.
Workshop 3: Listen to Me!
Listening, understanding and communicating with your child or youth.
Workshop 4: We Have A Problem….
Problem-Solving with your child, youth or family.

Connect Parent Group

A group for parents/caregivers of teenagers
An attachment-based program for parents and caregivers who are trying to understand and respond to their teen’s challenging behaviour. Connect is run by Child and Youth Mental Health in collaboration with community partners, including Alexandra Neighbourhood House.  For more information call Cindi at 604-538-5060 ext 23 or Child and Youth Mental Health at 604-542-3900.

Counsellor In Training (CIT) Program: Are you 14-18 years of age and interested in recreation leadership? Do you want to learn new skills in a fun camp environment? Then this program is for you!. Learn communication skills, team work, leadership and program planning. Experience volunteering in a camp setting, earn volunteer hours and build your resume. This program is offered during our residential summer camps in June every year. For more information call 604-535-0015.
