Arts Hub Dinner and Discussion
Alexandra Neighbourhood House is the recipient of a Vancouver Foundation grant to stimulate a collaborative team of artists, representing different media and genres, to create projects focused on social transformation. We're asking for your help to make this vision a reality!
We invite you to a light buffet dinner, and a moderated discussion on Tuesday, June 27, from 6-8 pm, in the Media Room at Alexandra Neighbourhood House, 2916 McBride Ave in Crescent Beach. The discussion will be facilitated by Neil Fernyhough, with support from Todd Ayotte (Cultural Development Coordinator from the City of Surrey); Melanie Watts (Operations Coordinator for Semiahmoo Arts); and Virginia Gillespie and Fauzia Rafique, who have been involved with producing Word Arts Live! at Alex House.
Even if you decide that participating in a collaborative initiative like this is not for you, we still welcome and seek your input in helping make it happen for others. What are your feelings about artistic collaboration in our community? What is the role of the arts in inspiring social change? How can Alex House help?
Please join us for what promises to be an interesting discussion about artistic collaboration in South Surrey and White Rock, as well as the role of the arts in inspiring social change!
